“What you are as a person is far more important that what you are as a basketball player” JW
October 14th 1910- June 4th 2011
One of the finest coaches ever involved in the game. Historians will recall the banners, players the lessons, but the game itself much more. John Wooden’s attitude regarding basketball was unmatchable and uncanny to many. His game day play-calling was equivalent to an artist with a sketch pad. Success wasn’t a vision of Mr. Wooden, but it was demanded. He maximized the abilities in everyone around him from the managers to the All-American’s. Today’s generation’s will never understand how important John Wooden was. At 2nhalfsteps we remember him for everything he’s done for basketball and the student’s he touched. We can assure you there will never be another John Wooden.
